Bangalore is neither a giant nor a pigmy

Few lines before the write up,

As I am starting my first Chintana (Thought) I wanted to start with my own city Bangalore. I want to thank Bangalore city for the growth it has given to me. Hence, the below article is for you.

The line (Bangalore is neither a giant nor a pigmy) is actually attributed to India however the same applies to Bangalore too.

This thought came to my mind when people were discussing about the area of Bangalore in the lunch gathering. They have opined that, ‘Bangalore is smaller city compared to other metros in India’ and I came to know that they are all from different locations and living in Bangalore for various reasons.

I agree with them with the fact that, Bangalore is one of the fastest growing metros in the world and no doubt in a short time Bangalore will take over all the other cities in India and on the large note South Asian metros.

I have an opinion that, the area of Bangalore is a boon. Yes, anyone can travel the entire city easily in a day’s time. It doesn’t take more than 3 hours to reach any part of Bangalore even in the peak hours.

Interesting fact is that the City bus and railway stations are in the center of the city and it takes maximum of 90 to 120 minutes to reach any corner of the city and of course with the assumption that, there are no strikes, road blocks, protests, rallies and the most common construction (so called developmental work) work.

But, I must agree that Bangalore is not at all a world class city when it comes to infrastructure and especially with travel time given that, the area is comparably smaller to other metros. We have the same facilities from the international airport what we have from Central bus and railway station. This would be the factor for the discussion.
I take hours together to travel to the so far airport from the main city and the infrastructure development work is pace less. Why dint we think about building express train in parallel with the construction of Airport?

You may ask, how this topic is related to marketing. If Bangalore has to grow as a world class market it has to improve on its infrastructure with the time factor in mind.

I started this article with the intension to express my happiness about the advantage the Bangalore has with its area but I could not end the story without complaining about its slow development in infrastructure.

I wish you all a great and quick transportation in a short time.

Enjoy your time in Bangalore.
